The FIM World Supercross Championship has confirmed the latest wave of rider signings for the 2026 season, with reigning world champions Max Anstie and Jason Anderson among the headline names as teams continue to strengthen their line-ups ahead of what promises to be the most competitive season yet. Reigning SX2 World Supercross Champion Max Anstie will return to defend his title with Rick Ware Racing after reaching a mutual agreement with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing to leave the team and contest the full 2026 World Supercross Championship. Anstie replaces the injured Coty Schock and will be aiming to secure back-to-back SX2 titles as the championship embarks on another global campaign.
In the premier SX1 class, defending World Supercross Champion Jason Anderson returns with Pipes Motorsports Group, bringing championship-winning experience to an already strong line-up. He will be joined by fellow American Colt Nichols in SX1, while Crockett Myers and Kyle Peters will represent the team in SX2. Peters replaces Justin Bogle in the team’s revised roster. Elsewhere, French rider Calvin Fonvieille has been confirmed in Team GSM’s SX2 line-up, while Australian prospect Jake Cannon will make his World Supercross debut with Bud Racing.
MCR has strengthened its SX2 squad with the addition of Robbie Wageman, while veteran Mike Alessi will contest the opening round in Calgary in the SX1 class, replacing Enzo Lopes. Lopes will return as the team’s championship rider for the remainder of the season. Electric motorcycle manufacturer Stark has also confirmed Brian Hsu for his World Supercross debut in SX2, while Kevin Moranz will compete in the SX1 class for 595 Racing.
The latest announcements add further depth to an already impressive international field, combining reigning champions, proven race winners and emerging talent from around the world. Thomas Covington, Director of Racing for the World Supercross Championship, said:
“Welcoming riders of Max and Jason’s calibre back to World Supercross is hugely exciting. Both are proven champions who know what it takes to succeed at the highest level of the sport, and their return adds even more quality and experience to an already stacked field.
“Alongside them, we’re seeing teams continue to strengthen their rosters with a mix of established race winners, rising stars and exciting international talent. These latest signings are another indication of the depth and competitiveness fans can expect throughout the 2026 season.”
