Following the recognition achieved by the Spark 2 earlier in 2026, AIROH’s GP 800 helmet has now been awarded the prestigious 5-star SHARP rating, the highest score granted by the independent British motorcycle helmet safety assessment programme. The achievement further reinforces the Italian manufacturer’s commitment to developing helmets that combine advanced protection, innovation, performance and rider comfort. Designed for road use and developed within AIROH’s in-house wind tunnel, the GP 800 stands out for its advanced engineering and aerodynamic design, delivering high levels of safety, stability and reliability for both everyday riding and more spirited performance use.

The GP 800 now joins the Spark 2 among the select group of helmets to achieve the highest possible SHARP rating. The SHARP (Safety Helmet Assessment and Rating Programme) system, operated by the UK Department for Transport, is regarded as one of the most respected and rigorous motorcycle helmet safety assessment programmes in the world. Helmets tested under the SHARP programme undergo a series of demanding impact assessments designed to measure energy absorption across multiple areas of the shell under a variety of impact conditions. Ratings are awarded on a scale from one to five stars, with five stars representing the highest level of protection available.

The recognition awarded to the GP 800 highlights the extensive design and engineering work behind the helmet, which was developed to deliver premium levels of safety, comfort and performance. Featuring aggressive aerodynamic styling and developed using AIROH’s wind tunnel technology, the GP 800 is engineered to provide excellent stability even at high speeds. Available in three outer shell sizes in HPC Carbon, as well as a Full Carbon 6K version, the GP 800 also offers an extra-wide 2D racing visor designed to maximise both vertical and peripheral visibility. A dedicated visor locking system further improves stability at higher speeds.

The helmet comes equipped with a Pinlock 120 XLT Max Vision lens and Dark Smoke visor as standard, alongside AIROH’s ATVR (AIROH Tool-less Visor Removal) and A3S (AIROH Automatic Antifog System) technologies. Comfort and ventilation have also been a major focus, with an advanced airflow system and highly breathable technical inner linings designed to perform effectively on both road and track. Additional technologies featured on the GP 800 include ASN (AIROH Sliding Net), AMLS (AIROH Magnetic Lining System), AEFR (AIROH Emergency Fast Release) and the Hydra System, all developed to further enhance rider safety, practicality and long-distance comfort.

The GP 800 is also compatible with AIROH’s AWC4 and AWC2 communication systems, continuing the brand’s philosophy of combining innovation, protection and performance for modern riders.
