Rome is preparing to host the biggest celebration in Vespa’s history as the iconic Italian scooter marks its 80th anniversary. From June 25 to 28, the Eternal City will stage Vespa Roma 2026 – 80 Years of an Icon, a four-day festival celebrating a brand that has become synonymous with freedom, style and the joy of life. Tens of thousands of Vespa enthusiasts from around the world are expected to descend on the Italian capital, making it the largest gathering of Vespisti ever held.
The centrepiece of the celebrations will be the Vespa Village at Rome’s Stadio dei Marmi in the Foro Italico. Open to the public and supported by the Municipality of Rome, the venue will showcase the story of Vespa’s past and future, with displays of rare historic models, the current range, fashion collections and exclusive merchandise.
According to Davide Zanolini, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing and Communication at Piaggio Group, the event celebrates not just a brand but a lifestyle that has inspired generations around the world. A packed programme of entertainment is planned across the four days. Highlights include the opening ceremony on June 25, a photographic exhibition charting 80 years of Vespa history, and live music provided by Radio Deejay.
Vespa Clubs from 48 countries are expected to attend, with the European Vespa Rally Championship and Gimkana World Championship taking place on June 26. One of the standout moments of the festival will be the Grand Parade on June 27, when thousands of Vespas from every era will ride through Rome’s most famous landmarks. The celebrations conclude on June 28 with the traditional Concorso di Eleganza, showcasing some of the rarest and most valuable Vespas ever produced.
