Aprilia Tuareg Racing has secured its fourth consecutive Italian Motorally Championship title, with Thomas Marini wrapping up the 2026 G-1000 crown at the final round of the season in Umbertide. The San Marino rider claimed the championship in his debut season aboard the Aprilia Tuareg Rally, continuing an impressive run of success for the twin-cylinder adventure bike in Italian rally competition.
Marini was among the leading riders from the opening round in Alassio, where he won every special stage of the weekend. Further victories followed in Olbia and Gioia dei Marsi, allowing him to maintain the G-1000 championship lead throughout the season. His campaign also included an outright victory on the second day at Gioia dei Marsi, putting the twin-cylinder Tuareg Rally ahead of the entire field.
It proved a strong season across the Aprilia Tuareg Racing squad. Marco Menichini completed the year third overall in the G-1000 standings following two second-place finishes at the Umbertide finale, giving Aprilia two motorcycles on the final championship podium. Paolo Pettinari also finished third in the Italian Rally Championship GPX standings.
Developed by Aprilia Racing in collaboration with the Guareschi brothers’ GCorse operation, the Tuareg Rally has now secured four successive Italian G-1000 titles while continuing to develop its rally-raid credentials.
Attention now turns towards international competition and preparations for the 2027 Africa Eco Race. Testing is scheduled to continue in Morocco during October, followed by an appearance at the Addax Rally as Aprilia develops its desert-specification Tuareg Rally ahead of the next major African campaign.
