The Touratech Travel Event 2026 attracted more than 20,000 visitors, making it the biggest edition in the event’s history and further cementing its status as one of the most important gatherings for the international motorcycle travel community. Held from June 5-7 at Touratech’s headquarters in Niedereschach, Germany, the event brought together adventure riders, long-distance travellers and industry partners for a weekend of riding, talks and community activities. Blessed with early summer weather and supported by a strong presence from BMW Motorrad, the festival grounds were busy throughout the three days.
More than 50 exhibitors and partners showcased their latest products and services, with test rides proving hugely popular. Many sessions on the latest motorcycles were fully booked well in advance. A new highlight was the introduction of dedicated off-road test rides, allowing visitors to experience adventure bikes from manufacturers including BMW, Ducati, KTM, Suzuki and Yamaha on specially prepared courses designed to replicate real-world conditions.
The programme of talks and presentations once again attracted large audiences. Niels Peter Jensen received an enthusiastic response for his “Above the Clouds” project, while renowned adventurer Michael Martin reflected on more than four decades of travel in his latest presentation, Around the World on Two Wheels. Dirk Schäfer entertained crowds with a specially created presentation combining humour and adventure, while Nick Sanders captivated audiences with stories from his numerous round-the-world journeys. The premiere of Adventure Country Tracks’ film 10th Anniversary Ride was also warmly received, with the ACT area becoming a focal point for the growing community surrounding the project.
The Adventure Stage continued to establish itself as an important part of the event, providing a platform for speakers, discussions and audience interaction. Content creators and social media personalities attracted particularly strong interest, while presentations from female adventurers undertaking long-distance journeys independently also proved popular. Away from the stages, visitors enjoyed demonstrations from the GS Trophy Team Germany and the School of Dirt team, whose displays showcased impressive riding skills both on trials bikes and larger adventure motorcycles. Guided rides through the Black Forest and factory tours were once again fully booked.
The event’s camping area reached record occupancy, with thousands of visitors staying on site and contributing to the strong sense of community that has become one of the hallmarks of the Touratech Travel Event. New additions, including the popular ‘Blubber Coffee’ motorcycle-mounted coffee machine, were warmly received, while demand for the official event T-shirt was so strong that supplies sold out before the weekend ended. The event also enjoyed extensive coverage on social media, with influencers Vanessa König and Julie Hauser documenting the action through an Instagram takeover on Touratech’s official channels.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Touratech event manager Vivien Benz thanked the visitors, partners, volunteers and authorities whose efforts helped make the gathering possible. Head of Marketing Philipp Blum also praised the support of more than 50 exhibitors and highlighted BMW Motorrad’s contribution as one of the standout elements of the weekend. Combining inspiring talks, riding experiences and a strong sense of community, the Touratech Travel Event 2026 once again demonstrated why it remains one of the highlights of the adventure motorcycling calendar.
