The new BMW R 1300 RT builds on the success of its predecessor, continuing its legacy of comfort, touring capability, and dynamic performance. Whether riding solo, with a passenger, or fully loaded, the R 1300 RT excels in versatility.

Sporty features such as an enhanced Shift Assistant Pro, sport brakes, and the newly developed Dynamic Chassis Adaption (DCA) suspension elevate its dynamic riding potential. The optional Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) allows for smooth manual or automatic gear shifting, enhancing comfort and control. Combined with a more dynamic and streamlined design, the R 1300 RT is ready for both spirited riding and long-distance cruising.

For wind and weather protection, adjustable side trim integrated into the design ensures fresh air circulation during hot city rides and protection on colder highway journeys. Four colour options are available: Alpine White, Triple Black, Racing Blue (Impulse), and the elegant Option 719 Camargue in Blue Ridge Mountain metallic.

Ergonomics were a key focus in the redesign. The rider now sits further forward, offering better front-end feedback and control, without compromising comfort. The rider’s seat height and angle are adjustable, while the passenger benefits from a lengthened seat and extra legroom. The seat height starts at just 780 mm, with other height options available.

The R 1300 RT features standard touring cases (27 litres each), with optional variable-volume Vario cases (27–33 litres), now electrified and integrated with central locking. They include interior lighting and a USB-C port in the left case. Two topcases are offered: 39 and 54 litres, the latter with electric locking and a heated backrest.

Powering the R 1300 RT is a new 1,300 cc boxer engine producing 145 hp and 149 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful production BMW boxer engine to date. It revs up to 9,000 rpm and offers smoother, more efficient performance than its predecessor.

Three riding modes—Rain, Road, and Eco—come standard. The Eco mode optimises range by maximising ShiftCam efficiency. Optional “Riding Modes Pro” adds Dynamic and Dynamic Pro modes for increased adaptability, along with mode pre-selection and enhanced engine drag torque control (MSR), which maintains stability during downshifting or coasting.

The optional ASA system automates clutch and gear shifts, letting riders focus more on the experience. Whether manual or automatic, shifting is seamless and enhances riding ease.

The completely redesigned chassis includes a new steel sheet metal main frame and an aluminium lattice tube rear frame, improving stiffness and compactness. Combined with a more compact drivetrain, mass is centralised for better handling and stability, especially when braking or changing direction.

BMW’s EVO Telelever front suspension blends the best elements of prior Telelever systems. The rear Evo Paralever system is stiffer and more precise. New hollow-spoke 17-inch wheels reduce weight by 1.4 kg for even better agility.

Optional DCA suspension enables two selectable chassis settings: one prioritising stability and comfort, and another for a sportier ride with firmer damping and a steeper steering angle. DCA dynamically adjusts damping, spring rate, and load balance for an optimal ride in all conditions.

A powerful braking setup with Integral ABS Pro is standard, with an optional sport brake system for increased performance and visual appeal.

LED lighting is standard all around, including a high-performance full LED headlamp. Optional Headlight Pro adds adaptive lighting and pitch compensation, with further adaptive light modes available depending on the market. These technologies enhance visibility and safety in varied riding conditions.

The Riding Assistant option includes advanced safety systems such as Active Cruise Control, Front Collision Warning, Lane Change Warning, and Rear End Collision Warning. Standard Dynamic Cruise Control features a braking function.

A 10.25-inch TFT display with integrated navigation and a new Connectivity Hub provides seamless control of media, phone, and accessories like smart glasses or heated gear. A ventilated smartphone compartment with a USB-C charger adds convenience.

An optional audio system or upgraded Audio Pro package offers premium sound through high-quality speakers and dynamic sound profiles tailored to riding conditions.

BMW also offers a wide range of optional equipment and accessories, allowing riders to customise the R 1300 RT to suit touring or sport-focused preferences.
