BMW Motorrad has announced a series of updates across its motorcycle line-up for model year 2027, with revisions covering everything from new factory options and equipment packages to styling changes and performance upgrades. The updated models will be available to order through BMW Motorrad retailers from August 2026.

One of the biggest changes arrives on the flagship M models, with the M 1000 RR receiving a newly developed third-generation M Motorsport frame. BMW says the redesigned chassis is around 1.3kg lighter than before, with revised flex characteristics designed to improve grip, stability and overall handling on both road and track.

The M 1000 RR also benefits from new M Track Packages, replacing the previous M Competition Package. Buyers can now choose between two track-focused specifications, adding equipment such as carbon fibre components, billet accessories, M Endurance Chain and M Carbon Wheels.

Similar updates have also been introduced on the M 1000 R and M 1000 XR, with both models gaining the new M Track Packages in place of the outgoing Competition Package.

The popular S 1000 RR receives a refreshed M Sport edition finished in a new Blackstorm Metallic and M Motorsport colour scheme. The previous Sport Bluestone Metallic finish has been discontinued, while the M Package has also been revised, with M Forged Wheels now fitted as standard and M Carbon Wheels becoming an optional upgrade.

Elsewhere in the range, both the F 900 XR and F 900 R gain an updated Comfort Package that now includes BMW’s M Endurance Chain, while the S 1000 R adds a USB charging port as part of its Comfort Package.

BMW has also enhanced practicality on the recently launched R 1300 models. The R 1300 R now offers factory-fitted pannier holders as an option, alongside a new Touring Package that includes luggage mounts, central locking and a centre stand. Meanwhile, the R 1300 RS can now be specified with factory case holders on the Performance model.

BMW’s luxury touring family also receives a refresh for 2027. The K 1600 GT, GTL, Bagger and Grand America all gain new Imperial Blue Metallic styling options, while several previous paint finishes have been discontinued. Depending on the model, buyers can also specify new seat designs, forged wheels and additional styling enhancements.

Rounding off the updates, the R 12 G/S receives a new Option 719 finish in Frozen Brooklyn Grey Metallic, replacing the outgoing Sandrover matt colour.

While many of the changes are evolutionary rather than revolutionary, the introduction of the new M Motorsport frame on the M 1000 RR and revised equipment packages across much of the range demonstrate BMW Motorrad’s continued focus on refining its performance, touring and adventure motorcycles.

The updated model year 2027 range will be available to order from BMW Motorrad dealers from August 2026.
