Touratech has added a highly effective valve cover protector to its tried-and-tested engine crash bar for the BMW R 1300 GS. This smart part provides even greater protection off-road and gives the GS a technical look. The shape and design of the valve cover protector skilfully echo the GS’s styling and are precisely tailored to the Touratech engine crash bar. As a result, this extension integrates seamlessly into the protection system, both functionally and visually. Ground clearance and lean angle are not affected.

Made from 25 x 2 mm strong tubes and three-dimensionally shaped sheets – both of stainless steel – the Touratech engine crash bar provides the basis for any effective protection kit for the BMW R 1300 GS. The wraparound design with four distinct mounting points protects the boxer engine in the event of a fall or side-impact with obstacles. Any forces encountered are absorbed, distributed via defined load paths and dissipated in a controlled manner via integrated predetermined bending points.
