A brand-new three-day Hard Enduro event is set to launch in 2026, promising an inclusive and innovative format designed to appeal to riders of all abilities. Taking place from May 1st to 3rd, 2026, in Oberhof, Metnitztal, Carinthia, Austria, the event combines competitive racing, extensive training opportunities, and a special children’s programme on the final day, all set against a spectacular natural backdrop.
The event is the brainchild of Thomas Pirolt, former organiser of the ÖEC Cup, who returns with a fresh and revolutionary approach to Hard Enduro competition. His concept is built around a simple but highly effective idea: giving riders the freedom to choose their own level of challenge.
At the heart of the new race format is an accessible, non-extreme off-road course. From this main loop, optional technical sections known as “outliers” branch off. Riders score points for each completed lap, with additional points awarded for every outlier they successfully tackle. Crucially, these outliers are optional, allowing each participant to decide how demanding each lap should be. This flexible format encourages participation from newcomers while still providing plenty of challenge for experienced riders.
The winner will be the rider who accumulates the highest number of points. In the event of a tie, the faster overall time will determine the final classification. The final race is limited to a maximum of four laps or three and a half hours of riding time.
Hell’s Ride is designed not only as a top-tier rider experience but also as a spectator-friendly event. Key sections of the course are easily accessible on foot, ensuring an exciting and engaging experience for fans.
International Hard Enduro star Graham Jarvis has already confirmed his participation, competing aboard the electric “Jarv-E”. The event will feature a total of ten individual classes, along with an overall classification, ensuring suitable competition for all ages and skill levels.
