The classic silhouette meets modern safety and versatility in SHOEI’s latest open-face helmet, engineered for riders who value heritage and performance.

When SHOEI introduced the J•O in 2016, it quickly became a standout in the neo-classic motorcycle scene – a minimalist, premium open-face helmet that combined timeless style with advanced safety. Nearly a decade later, following the introduction of the ECE 22.06 safety standard, SHOEI unveils the J•O2, an evolution that respects its iconic design but now offers enhanced safety, versatility, and refined design details.

Meeting new safety standards without sacrificing the J•O’s signature compact silhouette was a major challenge for SHOEI’s design team, but the J•O2 remains instantly recognisable. A key update is the addition of three discreet rivets above the viewport, one of the most requested features, allowing easy attachment of a peak or bubble visor, broadening the helmet’s appeal from vintage street racing and classic MotoX to urban cruising and American V-twin culture.

At the core of the J•O2’s versatility is the innovative CJ-4 retractable visor system. It tucks away seamlessly for an uncluttered open-face look or drops down quickly for wind and glare protection. SHOEI offer six lens options including clear, dark tint, HD yellow, Spectra Gold, Spectra Silver, and photochromatic.

Beneath its retro exterior, the J•O2 boasts cutting-edge safety technology. Its shell utilises SHOEI’s proprietary AIM (Advanced Integrated Matrix) construction for exceptional strength and lightweight performance. Fully certified to ECE 22.06, the helmet is available in four shell sizes for a precise fit, complemented by a multi-density EPS liner and a traditional double D-ring chinstrap trusted by riders worldwide.

Comfort is paramount on long rides. The J•O2 features a fully removable, washable interior made from premium polyurethane foam and ultra-soft fabric, accented with synthetic leather details that reduce glare and enhance durability. Integrated eyeglass channels and optional fit pads further personalise the riding experience. If a truly unique fit is required, SHOEI offer PFS (personalised Fitting System) at SHOEI PFS Assured dealers.

The J•O2 will be available from August 2025, with graphics launching in September.
