SHARK – a brand synonymous with cutting edge technology – has today launched the SKWAL CUP – taking inspiration from the track-focused AERON GP, the SKWAL CUP features a rear spoiler which gives a racing feel, bringing performance and style to a lid designed for everyday wear.
Made with a polycarbonate shell, the SKWAL CUP has been designed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) , the same technology used in MotoGP and F1 to precisely analyse airflow. The resultant rear spoiler or SHARK FIN helps reduce drag, improves air penetration and increases stability at higher speeds. Add to this the front air intake and two rear extraction fans, the internal air circulation has been optimised to enhance comfort, regardless of temperature.
Designed for year-round riding, the SKWAL CUP features the same high-definition Optical Class 1 visor as the AERON GP, which ensures clear, undistorted vision and is protected by an anti-scratch coating. Should a racier look be required a selection of tinted and iridium visors can be purchased, and easily fitted using the quick release mechanism.
There are also the benefits of an internal drop-down sun visor, an adjustable visor closure mechanism to aid airflow on warmer rides and a Pinlock anti mist visor insert is included. All of which enhances the rider’s experience and enables them to concentrate on the road (or track) ahead.
A further detail, which harks back to the racing roots of the SKWAL CUP is the double-D ring closure, favoured by all top racers because it offers maximum security, is light and easily adjustable. The SKWAL CUP will seamlessly accommodate a SENA for SHARK communication systems, in either Bluetooth or Mesh formats, which can be purchased separately.
Comfort is a top priority and with this in mind a specific fit can be achieved with SHARK’s Best Fit Technology, which includes the ALVEOTECH SANITIZED® suede interior which is soft touch and non-abrasive. The antibacterial ensures the rider is kept clean and the Easy Fit System provides a comfortable fit for glasses wearers. Cheek pads and liners are easy to remove and machine washable at 30°. The SKWAL CUP comes in two shell sizes, XS -M and L-XXL, to ensure the perfect fit.
For those who prefer a helmet specifically designed for urban rides, SHARK has also developed the SKWAL JET CUP. Incorporating the same state of the art technology as the SKWAL JET, this is a dynamic and ground-breaking open-face helmet. It’s been designed for the city rider who wants cutting-edge racing technology with an urban twist.
Available in both the Scott Redding and Johann Zarco replica graphics, the SKWAL CUP will be available in stores during December.
