Yamaha has revealed its updated MT-125 for 2027, bringing sharper styling, improved ergonomics and a refreshed appearance to the smallest member of its popular Hyper Naked family. Taking inspiration from its larger MT siblings, the latest model features a more aggressive design, with a redesigned seat creating a longer, leaner silhouette and a newly sculpted fuel tank intended to improve rider comfort and control. The side panels have also been revised, incorporating a distinctive textured finish with a transparent smoked pattern and prominent MT branding. The changes give the lightweight roadster a more contemporary appearance while retaining the unmistakable character that has made the MT range so successful.

Mechanically, the MT-125 retains its proven 125cc engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), designed to deliver responsive acceleration and accessible performance for newer riders. The familiar Deltabox frame and 41mm upside-down front forks remain, along with an 810mm seat height. Technology continues to play an important role, with a five-inch TFT instrument display offering smartphone connectivity through Yamaha’s free MyRide app. Riders can access turn-by-turn navigation, manage calls and messages, and monitor riding information, including distance travelled and lean angle. The updated model also benefits from a redesigned front end featuring angular styling, blade-like LED position lights, LED indicators and a dark smoked transparent front mask incorporating the MT-125 logo.

Four colour options will be offered for 2027, including the new Redline White finish with its contrasting two-tone seat, alongside Ice Storm, Icon Blue and Tech Black. Each version features bold new 125 graphics on the fuel tank, further emphasising the motorcycle’s sporty character. Yamaha will also offer a range of genuine accessories, allowing owners to personalise their machines through participating dealerships. The updated MT-125 is scheduled to arrive at European Yamaha dealers during the first quarter of 2027, with Irish pricing and exact availability yet to be announced.
