Moto Guzzi has unveiled The Trip 500, an all-new lightweight roadster designed to introduce a new generation of riders to the Italian marque. Combining contemporary styling, accessible performance and modern technology, the new model promises an enjoyable riding experience without the complexity or intimidating power associated with larger motorcycles. Weighing just 180kg in running order and featuring a seat height of 790mm, The Trip has been developed with everyday practicality in mind, making it equally suitable for commuting, weekend outings and riders returning to motorcycling after a lengthy absence.
Power comes from a new parallel-twin engine producing almost 48hp, making the motorcycle compatible with A2 licence requirements. The engine has been tuned to deliver smooth, accessible performance, with much of its torque available at lower engine speeds. A ride-by-wire throttle provides three selectable riding modes, Road, Sport and Rain, allowing riders to adjust the motorcycle’s characteristics according to conditions and personal preference. Optional equipment includes a quickshifter and integrated pictogram navigation, while a circular 3.6-inch TFT instrument display offers smartphone connectivity. Full LED lighting and backlit handlebar controls further enhance the standard specification.
Styling represents a fresh direction for Moto Guzzi, with clean lines, minimalist detailing and a distinctive black-finished twin-cylinder engine. A 15-litre metal fuel tank provides a practical touring range, while the LED headlight incorporates a modern interpretation of the famous Moto Guzzi eagle. Three colour options will be available, Black Metropolis, Green Grove and Red Beat, alongside a special launch edition known as The Opening. The new motorcycle will make its public debut at EICMA in Milan from 5 to 8 November 2026, with availability through official Moto Guzzi dealerships scheduled for early 2027.
